T he technology services group's Cape Town facility, powered by Nvidia's AI platform, is expected to evolve rapidly into a fully operational environment over the next four to six weeks. Cassava South Africa CEO Ziaad Suleman told ITWeb that strong early interest in the Cape Town facility is accelerating plans for the Johannesburg rollout, which will leverage the company's existing data centre footprint for a 20MW installation.
Cassava's AI ambitions extend well beyond South Africa, with plans to deploy between 12,000 and 13,000 GPUs across the continent. The company has data centre presence in Nigeria and Kenya and is also looking at North African markets including Morocco and Egypt.
